Princess-cut moissanite loose stones, sold by the carat at a flat $26/ct — D colour, VVS clarity, square brilliant cut with sharp corners. The princess is the deepest of the square cuts, so it is the smallest face-up per carat: a 1 ct princess is 5.5×5.5 mm against 6×6 for a cushion or asscher and 6.5 mm for a round. Buy by the millimetre if the head is already made.

The sharp corners are the whole setting question. They are the most exposed part of the stone, so a princess needs V-prongs (or a bezel) that cover the corners rather than sit on the sides; a plain four-prong head on a princess is how corners get chipped. The brilliant faceting throws more fire than any other square cut, and on moissanite that means ours are cut with restraint to keep the chevrons clean rather than flashy.
