Pear-cut moissanite loose stones, sold by the carat at a flat $26/ct — D colour, VVS clarity, hand-cut and calibrated to ±0.1 mm. A pear is the shape that lets a pendant or a drop earring read as longer than it is: at 8×5 mm a 1 ct pear covers more finger or more ear than a 1 ct round, at the cost of a point that needs protecting.

Two things to check before you order a pear: which way the point faces in the design (a pendant hangs point-down, most rings set point-up, and a pair of earrings needs a mirrored pair, which we select together), and the prong at the tip — a V-prong or a small bezel at the point is what stops the tip chipping in wear.
